Rejoice, according to Merriam Webster Dictionary, is “to feel joy or great delight”. So, the Scripture conveys that to rejoice in the Lord is to have joy or delight in the Lord; to feel joy when you think of Him. There are so many great reasons for rejoicing in the Lord. His character or the person of God is reason to delight in Him. Additionally, He is actively moving on our behalf at all times- working all things out for our good. Salvation

Salvation is the the greatest gift from God. Jesus paid the penalty for our sin. When we put our faith in Jesus as our Savior we can rest, knowing that we are no longer enslaved to sin. Additionally, we have complete satisfaction in Christ now and forever. The moment we come to Him for salvation, we are living a pupose-filled life. We become children of God at the moment of salvation as well. There are so many gifts that come with salvation. All of which are worthy of rejoicing! God’s goodness is another reason to rejoice. Everything God does flows from His mercy, grace and love. He is our Deliverer and Rescuer-first from sin and also from anything else He wills to remove from our path.

Character & Promises of God

We affirm His goodness, His promises and His plan for our lives. When faith grows so does spiritual growth. This makes us a fantastic witness to unbelievers. In addition to mental and spiritual benefits, there are physical benefits. When we rejoice it reduces our stress, boosts our immune system and increases peace and joy. We are literally putting our mind on things that are lovely, delightful and true rather than the brokeness of the world.
