50 Beautiful Identity In Christ Bible Verses
Do you struggle to know what your true identity is in this world? If we are honest, I imagine we all have people or events in our lives that lead us to believe lies about our value and worth. Everyone draws conclusions about their value and worth based on things that have happened in their lives. So what is the truth? What is our true identity? If you are one of God’s children then your Identity is in Christ. In case you need a reminder of your value and worth, we are going to review identity in Christ Bible verses. Let’s go!
Lies of the Enemy
Children of God have an enemy. Satan is the enemy of God, His people and His plans. Therefore, he is opposing God, His chosen people and God’s plans. It’s also important to note, that his chief weapon is deception. He is known as the father of lies who disguises himself as an angel of light. Deception is his primary tool to oppose the child of God. The enemy can’t steal your identity because you are sealed with the Spirit of God. However, he can lead you to believe lies about yourself. When you believe a lie about your identity, it will impact how you talk to yourself, how you feel and what you do. For instance, if I believe I am a failure, I will have negative self talk, feel hopeless and probably not try very hard at anything I do. Why? Because I believe I’m a failure, so why try? See how what we believe matters?
Truth: Identity In Christ Bible Verses
So what is the truth? Truth comes from God’s Word. The world, the enemy or the people in our lives might not affirm our identity and value in Christ, but the Truth of God affirms our value. As we dive into our value in Christ verses, ask God to speak to you about who you are in Him. I recommend you find the lie first. It always helps to identify the problem first. When you have a medical problem, the first thing the doctor does is diagnose the problem. This will help lead to the solution. Same goes with identifying the lies we believe. That diagnoses the problem, then we can find the solution. The solution will be a specific Bible verse that challenges the lie. Remember when Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness (Matthew 4), he tried to twist the Truth of Scripture. But Jesus used the Bible to resist the lies and speak Truth over Himself and the situation.
Let’s do the same thing for ourselves. Let’s speak Truth over ourselves as many times as it takes to believe the Truth instead of lies. It’s also important to seek God’s help in this. Pray for help and for more faith to believe the Truth instead of lies. The goal is to see ourselves through God’s eyes. Let’s get into the identity in Christ Bible verses…
